1. Goal: Transferring your dreams and desires into a workable landscape plan.

Information regarding site characteristics, site usage, choice of materials, CC&R's and Homeowners Association restrictions all need to be conveyed to our designer. Communication is vital to the design process. Our designer will choose the right plant material for your specific site conditions and area.

Some possible design themes are: Tropical, Mediterranean, Southwestern, Tuscan, Woodland , English Cottage.

Desires might be: pool, water features, BBQ, lighting, low maintenance, basketball court, fire pit, lawns, rockwork, putting green, orchard, vegetable garden.

Some requirements: shade structures, places for pets, play area for children, drainage systems, fencing, HOA or developer requirements.

2. Arriving at a Budget

It is always good to have an idea how much you would like to spend on your landscape. The recommended landscape budget is roughly 10% - 20% of the value of the home. This is a good starting point but amenities like pools, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, outdoor kitchens and other additions will expanded the budget. Hardscape items comprise a major part of landscape expenses. Using the proper materials and installing these materials correctly is very important to the value and long-term performance of your yard.

3: The Working Plan

We can help you determine how much detail you will need in your plan. Is a conceptual plan enough or do you need construction details? While some homeowners associations need installation detail and material specification prior to approvals, others might not. Your HOA may have a specific list of approved materials and plants that we will need to address. All of theses considerations will help determine the cost of your design.
